Abstract

The United Nations (UN) has many policies when working with refugees but since the European Union (EU) formed, the UN has been mainly governed by what the EU thinks refugee policies should be. By looking at these two international organizations and their history and involvement in refugees since WWII, it is plain to see how much the EU is influencing the UN's refugee policies for its own advantage. While the EU has been dictating the refugee policies, other international organizations have been at the heart of helping refugees but getting little say or power over what refugee policies will be.
