Biographical

Christian Ettinger is the owner and brewmaster of Hopworks Urban Brewery in Portland, Oregon, which was founded in October of 2007. Born in San Francisco, but raised in Portland, Christian Ettinger earned a business and marketing degree from the University of Oregon, and was certified as a brewmaster through the Brewers Guild.

Description

As the owner and head brewmaster of Hopworks Urban Brewery, Christian Ettinger is able to combine his passions of brewing and cycling into a successful business that remains motivated and influential in sustainable practices. Ettinger shares his thoughts on how he has conducted business in a way as to uphold his mission of “producing world-class beer and food as sustainably as possible” by using methods of using a balance of locally sourced and organic produce, the re-use and recycling of previous facilities, intelligent spending, and striving to remain in the forefront of sustainable technology.
