Abstract

Hosted by Joe Marks. Rap: Edwina Watson reading a piece on construction and building name changes at Portland State and their effects on student anxiety. Richard Cohan and Don Markle, "Rap-In News," on gasoline prices in the NW; sports report; NY Mayor John Lindsay. Ralph Walker, broadcast "from atop the Portland State University parking structure" at 5:30 PM on a Friday, interview with a jumper from the roof who despairs of finding parking even after paying for a permit ("I'm not going to jump, I'm saving a parking place for Monday morning"). Rap: Activism on campuses in Kyoto, Japan; Prof. Errett Hummel's visit to the city. Chris Ludwig: Rap on water pollution and "scenic area" legislation to clean up Oregon rivers. Ralph Walker on the Vanguard's "death wish": the false report of Nixon's death in Vanguard supplement "The Shaft" that drew FBI attention. "This is Ralph Walker asking, Where will it all end?" Transferred to digital format from original ¼ inch reel to reel audio recording.
