Transcript 0:04 my favorite project has been this hat 0:09 right here because I am in a Chinese 0:12 course I i take the chinese language and 0:15 so the professor gives us a name for 0:18 gives each of us a name more small class 0:20 so she gives us each name and i wanted 0:23 to put it on a hat so um I have my 0:27 Chinese name on the Hat and this took me 0:30 forever to make and I made the pattern 0:34 myself of course because you can't find 0:36 a pattern with my Chinese name on it so 0:39 I came up with the pattern myself and I 0:41 just went for it and yeah and I'm really 0:46 proud of it it came out really nicely 0:48 whoa what has been my favorite project 0:53 that is a tough question well my 0:59 favorite project probably was the scarf 1:01 I made for my mom last Christmas because 1:05 while I was making it it was it was for 1:07 her and at the time we'd kind of been 1:10 arguing and disagreeing a little bit so 1:13 it was it I felt bad about being angry 1:16 and snippy with her so I tried to like 1:18 direct all of my love in apologies into 1:23 knitting the scarf and I watched like 1:26 three seasons of how i met your mother 1:28 on my computer while i was knitting it 1:30 so I like binge don that and I remember 1:33 I was like I gotta get the scarf done 1:35 before and it's like the 24th and well 1:39 technically the 25th at like 3am for I 1:41 am I'm like finishing the scarf like I 1:43 have to finish it before Christmas so I 1:46 mean it's kind of a weird a weird one it 1:50 wasn't super difficult or anything but I 1:52 just knew that she'd really love the 1:54 colors and it was kind of like a peace 1:56 offering after we'd been fighting a 1:57 little bit so there's a little bit of 1:59 sentiment behind that one I guess this 2:02 is our probably my current favorite 2:04 project this is the first full sweater I 2:06 have knit for myself it took me about 2:10 nine months I think total that I didn't 2:12 knit it continuously but I think it's my 2:15 favorite thing right now 2:17 that's hard um either my first pair of 2:23 socks or um if you know rent um my 2:30 sister really wanted a sweater like 2:33 marks and they didn't really sell them 2:35 so I was like fine i will make you one 2:38 and i did and it looks terrible but she 2:42 really likes it and I'm kind of proud of 2:44 it that's a tough one my favorite 2:48 project that I've worked on would 2:50 probably be the first time I started to 2:54 cable knit because like i don't i don't 2:58 really knit using patterns i knit i try 3:00 to figure it out as I go along so when I 3:03 figured out kind of how to cable knit 3:05 the first one that like it didn't come 3:07 out well but I learned how I need to 3:09 like work the yarn so that it comes out 3:12 looking decent or liked good oh yeah so 3:18 like some cable knitting there someone 3:21 here but you can't really tell because 3:22 it's dark but yeah so this shawl has a 3:26 special story with the very first 3:30 knitting retreat i went to i met a group 3:33 of people all of them were at that and 3:35 they would treat for the first time too 3:37 and i had never met any of those people 3:39 in person before i went to the knitting 3:42 retreat through I found it through 3:44 ravelry and signed up and went because 3:47 it was in st. Louis and I was living in 3:49 champaign illinois which was only three 3:55 hours away so um I went to this retreat 3:58 and I met all these people and then to 4:01 retreats later we all also went to the 4:04 retreat and we all decided to knit color 4:07 affection that was that this is the 4:09 pattern color affection so a whole bunch 4:12 of us did kind of in it along for color 4:14 affection I did it for the Christmas 4:16 season and this took me at least eight 4:20 hours to do scarves are incredibly 4:22 redundant you just going back and forth 4:24 back and forth over and over again and i 4:26 made this double the thickness that you 4:28 see you 4:29 because at the end there's a tube so it 4:32 was essentially cut here and twice the 4:36 thickness of this and I realize how 4:38 absurdly thick it was so i ended up 4:40 sewing the two ends together and making 4:43 it a tube so now when I it's cold in the 4:46 winter I can put it around my neck and 4:48 keep my arms in
