Putting Words On Paper: A Technoautobiography

Over the last few decades, the process of using a keyboard and mouse to enter and manipulate symbols on a computer screen has become so familiar to most of us that we forget how novel it actually is. This web text explores my experience of some slightly older writing technologies, their importance to me, and the question of textual materiality in the age of the word processor.
