Abstract

A complete all-analog VHF Receiver is described with IQ image suppression and 455kHz IF. Two examples are discussed, at 50MHz and 144MHz. Image suppression is greater than 40dB, two-tone 3rd order dynamic range is greater than 80dB, and the noise floor for envelope modulated signals is near 0.1uV. The design may be scaled for any VHF frequency where an overtone crystal is available.
