The main aim of this paper is to examine the PeopleSoft Payroll/Time & Labor 8.0 implementation project at Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). We look to examine the different phases the project went through and what went into executing the project, in terms of planning and resources, in order to make it a success. We also want to examine the problems they faced while executing the project and suggest ways in which they could avoid these problems in future projects. We would also like to suggest better methods or procedures, which they could consider for future projects. In order to achieve this we decided to break of the implementation process of the project into four stages: Concept, Creation, Carry-out and Completion.
The concept stage will look at how the project was conceptualized and how the need for the project was determined and what exactly the need for the project was. The creation staged attempts to look at the planning stage of the project and what the “battle plan” was to tackle the need. The Carry-out stage looks at the implementation of the project and what was encountered as they got their hands dirty in tackling the need. The completion stage looks at how the project was brought to an end after the objectives of the project were attained.
