Abstract
The power outage incident in NYC over two years ago caused by stressed electrical lines has sent the message that no single point of failure can occur if you have alternative energy sources. The debate whether the United States Government should fund the development of alternative energy sources is coupled with decisions that will have significant impact on Americans today and in the future.
