Abstract

This author summarizes the insights he gained from preparing teaching material for his courses on “nanotechnologies” for over a decade at both the undergraduate and graduate student levels at a research university. A distinction is made between advanced courses that can be classified as some kind of workforce training and 300 level undergraduate courses that are mainly concerned with the development of critical thinking skills as part of inter- and trans-disciplinary science and engineering education. Didactic uses of 3D printed models in introductory nano-tech/science courses are mentioned. Information on how to obtain the print files of such models is included.
