Abstract

I mull over the increasing interchangeability of queer with lesbian/gay (which ends up domesticating queer's radical potential) and call for queer to be liberated from the mainstream forces and institutional structures that have appropriated it.

Currently Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Composition at Soka University of America, Aneil Rallin has also held appointments as Assistant Professor of English at York University in Toronto and as Assistant Professor of Literature and Writing Studies and Director of General Education Writing at California State University at San Marcos. He grew up in Bombay and lives in Los Angeles. He does not drive.
