Abstract
Introduction: Finding innovative ways to store energy can help improve the reliability of power grids. DERs, or Distributed Energy Resources, are an affordable and accessible option for energy storage. The focus of this project is to build a prototype of a Distributed Control Module (DCM) that acts as a communication point between water heaters– as DERs– and Grid Service Providers (GSPs).
