Abstract

The Portland State Aerospace Society (PSAS) develops open-source rockets and CubeSats for research and education. This work involved electronics projects across multiple active systems, from assembling hardware for the LV3.1 rocket to redesigning PCBs for CubeSat testing equipment and lab instruments. The Roll Control System (RCS) boards for LV3.1 were populated using surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly techniques. The Card Debug Board was redesigned to troubleshoot various cards within the "flat-sat" engineering model of the most recent CubeSat iteration. This work involved assembling the electronics hardware for LV3.1, the most recent rocket model in development. Much of the initial work focused on wiring the electromechanical recovery system (ERS) modules.
