Presenter Biography

Emma was born in Denver, but spent most of her time growing up in Portland. She attended Tulane University for undergraduate, as a Cell & Molecular Biology and International Development double major. Although her plans for the Peace Corps are postponed, she is excited to be a part of the OHSU community, completed a Graduate Certificate in Public Health. In her free time, she enjoys running outdoors, playing with her puppy, and watching foreign films.

Abstract

In this presentation, I will review the negative impacts of urbanization on mental health and the positive role of green space on mental well-being. Moreover, I will provide examples of projects being conducted to increase the amount of green space in urban communities.
