Abstract

Understanding Communication related risks and effectively managing them is an important task of Project Manager managing a diverse and distributed team. In our literature review we have identified the impact of communication related risks on project deliverables and the tools and techniques available to the Project Manager to mitigate them. Although we found abundant research been done on teams, communication and risk management in projects but research on communication related risk management in diverse and distributed teams is limited. With distributed teams becoming a norm in today’s globalization of economies this area of project management needs more attention.
