Abstract
The study is for evaluating the cost of capital for valuating a private company, ABC Engineering with an ending data at December 31st, 2012. ABC Engineering is a private company for practicing the skill of valuation. The comparable companies picked are all public traded companies. The goal of the study is to get a defensible result for the Beta used in industrial risk premium (IRP). The paper will first introduce the context of beta and then show the process of calculation of beta with 6 methods.
