Abstract
By using a case study of a remote site project, and comparing project planning, organization, and communication as they relate to remote sites, it is shown that overall needs of the management of remote-site engineering projects are the same as that of the in-house projects. The major challenge associated with the remote site is the absence of face-to-face contact with the personnel at the home office. Otherwise, project activities can be conducted the same way whether the project team is located within the home office, or thousands of miles away
