Albina Newspaper

Richard “Dick” Bogle, who was a Portland City Commissioner and the first African American news anchor on the West Coast, wrote for the Albina Newspaper in an opinion section titled “Bogle Says.” Bogle also wrote for the Portland Challenger. Journalism runs in the Bogle family, as Bogle’s mother, Kathryn G. Bogle worked as the Editor for the Portland section of the Northwest Enterprise.
