Abstract

The question, “How to capture and reduce time loss while switching in multiple project management?” is considered to be one of the most important questions in project management. Several researchers have proposed time management methodologies [4] – [6], which use project requirements, multi-tasking, theory of constraints, learning curves concepts and project managers’ skills to capture data that can help managers make better decisions in assignment of multiple projects to project managers. The original Decision Support Model for Project Manager Assignment was developed by Dr. Patanakul, Dr. Milosevic and Dr. Anderson with the aim to help companies align their project assignments to that of their organizational goals. The extension of the original model is to meet all project management constraints and build a model that can serve multi-purpose in project management environment. The intent of this project is improving the switchover time loss equation proposed in prior research, in order to capture time loss data in course of managing multiple project by project managers which can provide information for managers in rendering better decisions in assignment of projects to project managers.
