Abstract
As today’s banks collapse and stress is added to the global economies, it is getting harder for companies to borrow money, therefore it is more important then ever for decision makers to ensure extra capital, resources and durations in projects are minimized. This projects models basic concepts of OR with limited training in linear programming to solve a real world problem. The team worked with a decision maker at Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) to find a way to evaluate a selection of cost reduction projects and using simulation software, Crystal Ball, to analyze the uncertain values used in the model to ensure probability of results.
