Abstract
Microsoft's Windows 95 new desktop operating system was released on August 24, 1995. It has a complete new user interface and many new features. Due to Microsoft's marketing blitz, Windows 95 has had huge sales. While there are many benefits to Windows 95 there are also several pitfalls in the implementation of Windows 95 throughout a large organization that must be evaluated before committing the company to it. This research paper discusses the strategic issues which are pre-eminent in an organization's consideration for the installation of new technology over a networked system and whether it is done piece-meal or campus wide. Some implications concerning the method of implementation are drawn from the research.
