Abstract
This paper describes the benefits of the utilization of solar photovoltaics (PV) in northwestern Oregon and describes a newly developed interactive financial decision support model created for residential PV installation in northwestern Oregon. Advantages of this model over existing standards include fewer assumptions made regarding locality-specific circumstances, including utility rate increase forecasts, local incentive and tax credit information, region specific electricity generation efficiencies, and the provision of unique inputs and outputs such as user-defined financing options and variable sensitivity analysis.
