Abstract
There is a growing trend in team dynamics as more and more companies enter into a global marketplace and communication technologies continue to evolve. The trend is for companies to use Virtual Teams in order to get projects completed and complex issues resolved. Virtual Teams can utilize company-wide resources and produce around the clock results. There are many benefits to this style of team; however, many unique issues arise from the use of Virtual Teams. This paper presents the benefits and drawbacks of using Virtual Teams and presents a guide for team leaders and managers to consider when creating the Virtual Team to mitigate some of the issues the VT format brings.
