Abstract
This paper analyzes the functioning of globally dispersed distributed teams. They are also known “virtual teams.” These technologysupported teams operate from across the globe, under different environmental conditions than traditional teams, carry huge responsibilities, and are required to make split second decisions under huge time pressure. Their performance and effectiveness totally depends upon – the trust between the team members, strong communication skills, overcoming cultural differences, proper coordination in project and process management, and the usage of real-time dependable technology solutions.
