Abstract
The establishment of a matrix approach comes about through an evolutionary process that , in all probability, would not be the same for every organization. Matrix is a complex , difficult and sometimes frustrating form of organization to live with. However, matrix does work in some types of organization. There are some key elements that organizations should consider before deciding on using matrix management. The paper describes key element necessary for successful use of a matrix approach.
