Abstract:

In this project we used a decision-based approach to assist someone in choosing a cell phone provider and plan. The pairwise comparison model was selected because we decided this decision was more of an analytical comparison than a hierarchical decision. We did not see any hierarchical levels in selecting a wireless provider plan when we were mapping out the scope of this project. We also wanted the model to be simple for a wide variety of people to use and understand. This report outlines the techniques we used for selecting cell phone providers and gathering data. We also describe the assumptions that were made during the conceptual stages of the model development and explain the model in more detail. We then selected three scenarios to test the model and illustrate how the model worked and provide the results for the different scenarios.
