Abstract
Abstract:
Major League Baseball is a very popular sporting event in America and there are a lot of fans of this sport. The situation is valid for Portland. Statistics show that very high TV ratings occur in Portland in terms of watching MLB games and also 16% of sports fans in Porland named MLB as their favorite. Now Portland is the largest major city in the US without an MLB team. In this study we tried to analyze the current revenues of MLB teams and made an estimate for Portland's team with a definite confidence of interval. The technique used throughout the analyses is regression analysis. For some of them, we used stepwise and multiple regression models whereas simple regression technique is used for some others.
