Abstract
This paper describes computer system options for a value add software reseller to support moving to a new source control software, identified as a strategic business need. Key factors, including cost, performance and strategic business fit, were scored for each alternative and weighted based on the experience of software developers. Composite scores for each system were calculated and sensitivity analysis were performed, leading to a recommended system. The selection can be significantly influenced by the weights assigned by the decision maker. The advantage of this method is that it can be used to readily compare the decision that would be based strictly on economics and the decision based on the combined factors.
