Abstract

The pioneers group has decided to create a start-up company. MyMeals will be a meal delivery service aimed at offering restaurant partners a way of expanding their business. The Company will be based on a web-based portal called 'mymeals.com' where customers can visit and order a meal to be delivered. The target customer segment is that of professionals and families of working parents with limited time to spend on making meals at homes. The company will start with operations in Portland Metro area.

In order to determine the best strategy for starting this business, the team did an in-depth environmental analysis, including a market analysis of the Portland Metro area, as well as a study of other successful markets in this industry. We then looked at the strengths and weaknesses of the company and identified the opportunities and threats in the environment. Through the study of other successful companies, we determined several critical factors to success.
