Abstract
Abstract:
This paper researches the problems and potential solution for forecast1ng capacity in a high mix low volume (HMLV) printed circwt board manufacturing job shop. The factory is faced with a myriad of issues from products being late, the forecast leading or lagging actual output, and the ability to effectively determine what the right option is when dealing with forecasting issues. Alternatives for forecasting capacity are addressed using Time Series forecasting, Linear Regression, a constant number based on simulation, and a simulation-based forecaster.
