Abstract
Abstract:
The study looks at the economic and technical aspects of the proposed the Static Var Compensator (SVC) technology in an attempt of improvement of productivity (i.e., efficiency) at the Andrews Company's factory. The energy losses measured at the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) constitute a major concern in the production process. To compensate the losses, installation of the Static Var Compensator (SVC) is proposed to improve the efficiency of the process.
