Abstract
Conventional labor hour standards have proven to be a sub-optimal measure for the manufacturing job shop studied. This paper investigates the use of a variable labor hour standard which adjusts manufacturing standards for fluctuations in quality, learning curve adjustments and manufacturing practice.
