Abstract
This project examined the management approach and organization of Tri-Met's West Side Light Rail Project and presents an alternative approach. The West Side Light Rail Project is a one billion dollar public works project which will tie the western Portland suburbs to the existing light rail system. Beginning in downtown Portland, the project extends a double tracked line, stations, park and ride lots, roadway improvements, maintenance facilities, two tunnels, transit cars, and communications systems. The Project is currently in the design phase and is scheduled for completion in late 1997.
