Abstract
Scheduling is one of the most important aspects of project management. This study investigates the methods that hightechnology companies use to schedule projects. Personal interviews were conducted with 13 project managers who are responsible for the creation, monitoring and maintenance of schedules in high-technology companies to determine how planning and scheduling are accomplished. The responses are divided into four main categories: (1) Schedule Creation; (2) Schedule Monitoring and Maintenance; (3) Schedule Responsibility; and (4) Post- Project Analysis. A literature search was also conducted. The opinions and advice of the literature commentators is compared to the answers of the interview respondents.
