Abstract
This paper discusses a theoretical framework for managing the uncertainty in new product development that is strategically aligned to the pattern of competition. Section 2 reviews the framework and theoretical propositions for managing innovation under certainty how Companies compete in relationship to innovation patterns. Section 3 illustrates the data used in the research analysis. Section 4 tests the hypotheses suggested by the framework. Finally, section 5 provides some concluding remakes and recommendations for further research.
