Abstract
With the May 1992 Occupational Safety and Health regulation that was passed, entitled Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals, management in industry will be faced with increasing costs and must be made aware of the alternatives that they have available. These alternatives include good engineering practice in design processes, process documentation, process hazard analysis and management of change. These are some of the issues addressed in this study.
