Abstract
This project is to develop an approach to the analysis of the bottlenecks in flow-shop operations. The focus is on the identification and elimination of bottlenecks in the flow-shop environment, while considering the balance between the costs and benefits of this bottleneck reduction/flow enhancement analysis. The approach developed in this paper utilizes the outof- kilter algorithm, minimum-maximum cost, and flow network algorithm to identify the bottlenecks, while maximizing the profit expected from the manufacture of certain products.
