Abstract
This paper will address the implementation of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet using Visual Basis Analysis (VBA). The spreadsheet will be structured for easy execution of the model and interpretation of output that will be utilized by regional managers of a large retail chain. Both of the Input and Output Envelopment models are implemented in the spreadsheet for execution and interpretation. The primary focus of the interpretation will be the evaluation of less than efficient sites (location or decision making unit DMU) and the efficient sites they are compared to. The purpose of this evaluation is to understand the optimization output relative to the DEA model structure.
