Abstract
This paper reviews strategic corporate planning concepts and methods and the roles of strategic managers. Many companies employ “portfolio managers”, program managers, and project managers, but few link the success of a strategic plan to the input that project managers have in its genesis. Through literature review and brief descriptions of several cases studies, we define the project manager‟s role in creating and executing a strategic plan by incorporating project strategic alignment into a project‟s success measures.
