Abstract
The automated flow of product information among interdisciplinary team members is a priority and technical requirement in concurrent engineering. This paper discussed the significant issues, problems, needs and current situations of companies addressing engineering information system requirements. Product information management systems, frameworks, and networks address these issues and provide new capabilities.
