Abstract
This project is the testing and charicterization of a Contra Roatating magnetic gear mechanism. it is a pair of nested rings each comprised of alternating magnets that allows for transmision of torque without the "Gears" to actauly touch. testing was focused on pusging the mechanism to its thermal limit. a maximum speed of 2500 RPM before overheating. After disasembly it was discovered that one of the magnets was in the wrong orientation potenitaly reducing capabilities. it is also suggested to ivestigate possible error from the method of captruing torque data.
