Description

It takes more than a textbook to teach a class! I'll tell you how I created OER ancillaries (including interactive lecture slides, in-class activities, and project prompts) to accompany OpenStax Astronomy. This work was supported by funding from LCC's OER Librarian. I'll briefly describe the reason for authoring this material, the collaboration process, and what we've created. I'll also discuss some side benefits of writing OER: helping to spread active and engaged pedagogies, and the chance to highlight diversity in your field that your textbook may have forgotten.
