PSU Library Special Collections is home to a growing collection of manuscripts, early printed books, and rare books dating back to the early medieval period.

Our manuscript collection contains leaves, scrolls, and codices of religious texts from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa; works of poetry and music, histories, and legal documents. Highlights of our rare book collection include manuscript and printed books of hours, world chronicles, early modern works in the sciences, European Middle East studies of the 17th-19th centuries, Oregon history, and Portland State faculty and alumni authors.

Many of the collections featured here contain student research on materials in Special Collections.
