Abstract
Magnetic gearboxes (MG) utilize magnetic field heterodyning to create speed change without physical contact. The object of this paper is to investigate the practical benefits of using this new hybrid Halbach (HH) structure in a MG. It should be mentioned that this analysis does not use magnets on the central modulation rotor. In this analysis the central modulation ferromagnetic rotor poles, are connected together using bridges. The addition of the bridges decreases the peak torque however it makes the construction of the MG significantly less challenging.
