Abstract
This article demonstrates the development and the application of a hierarchical decision modeling research software package to the problem of assessing the technology adoption potential of mobility-tracking medical devices of neurosurgery and orthopedics patients. The methodology of Hierarchical Decision Modeling (HDM) was applied to the multi-criteria system analysis problem in the case and the solutions architecture was implemented to perform HDM calculations, analysis, and visualization of the data. The authors present the case of the wearable technology adoption problem and a solutions architecture that uses modules written in Ruby and R for Qualtrics Survey Software data.
