Abstract
Lorenzo Veracini’s Colonialism: A Global History offers a sweeping analysis of colonialism over the past six centuries. The book opens by defining colonialism as “an unequal relationship predicated on displacement” (p. 1). Through nine concise chapters, an introduction, and a conclusion, Veracini’s metaphor of a wave serves to document and distinguish between forms of colonialism.
