Abstract

At eighteen, Zoey is about to graduate from coreschool and begin enjoying the life of a working citizen in her comfortable totalitarian society. Within weeks of a brief job interview, she’s educated about the tactics and software used by her employers, and works from home in her assigned apartment in a new city. She’s excelling in her role within the apparatus of the surveillance state when she strikes up a romance. The chatty antiauth young woman may challenge Zoey’s faith in the agency and the surveillance state at large, or help her rise in the ranks faster than her managers expected.
