Abstract
An image reconstruction algorithm is tested by means of a facial image database. Because image processing requires a significant amount of storage and computing power, singular value decomposition, or SVD, is used to harvest the values needed to execute the algorithm. A theoretical framework of SVD is also included. By means of this low-dimensional procedure, images are able to be reconstructed with varying quality.
