Abstract

This literature review explores attachment theory in the context of the workplace and higher education. The attachment research in these contexts is lacking, especially for higher education, but the data that does exist shows an important influence of attachment orientation and attachment related behaviors on the success of and interaction between individuals in these environments. Additionally, the influence of context on attachment related behaviors is explored. These discussions culminate in suggestions as to how attachment research can be further expanded upon and limitations in both the current research and this literature review.
