Description
On Moonless Nights: A collaboration Between Chitra Ganesh and students from Martin Luther King Jr. School
On Moonless Nights features artwork by Brooklyn-based artist Chitra Ganesh. Her work is inspired by fairy tales, mythology, iconography, and comic books. The exhibit includes original pieces by Ganesh as a well artwork created by MLK Jr. School students in Ms. Johnson (5th grade) and Mr. Caldwell’s (4th grade) classes. The MLK Jr. students participated in a workshop led by Chitra and assisted by Portland State University students to create drawings of superheroes inspired by people in their everyday lives. This catalog was created as an accompaniment to the exhibition of that work at King School Museum of Contemporary Art (KSMoCA).
