    Description

    “In this manuscript, land at Merston on the Isle of Wight changes hands between William le Baron of Knighton and William of Huntingdon (and his wife Margaret) of the parish of Chale.” [from dealer's note]

    Legal document written in chancery hand in Latin. Stain from paper clip at upper right, one horizontal and two vertical creases; otherwise in excellent condition. Text is clear and legible. Every five lines are numbered in modern hand in pencil at left margin. Includes tab at foot of manuscript on which a wax pendant seal must have been affixed at one time, but the seal is now missing.
